Underground city comes to surface in Cappadocia

There are several underground cities in the Cappadocia region in Turkey.They are at Özkonak, Mazıköy and several other places, but the most interesting ones now open to visitors are the ones South of Nevşehir at Kaymaklı and Derinkuyu. In 2014 an enormous underground city was discovered beneath Nevşehir's hilltop fortress in the city center. The area once marked for residental development,now has protected archeological status. It will be some years before this discovery is opened to visitors. These underground cities were excavated as early as the Hittie times. Javier studied and started practising sports in Pontevedra. He discovered triathlon in 1998. He made his debut in the Olympic-distance triathlon at the age of 15. In December 1999, the medical services of the CSD detected a cardiac anomaly and he was banned to represent Spain in international competitions. Turkish violinist Muhammed Yıldırır sets a new world record as the fastest violinist

Turkish violinist Muhammed Yıldırır set a new world record as the fastest violinist by playing a famous interlude in only 37.84 seconds, surpassing Britain's Ben Lee who played it in 54.24 seconds and getting him into the Guinness Book of World Records. Yıldırır performed "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, a high-tempo piece that takes more than one minute to play for other violinists, in the presence of Guinness representatives at an Istanbul concert. Notable British violinist Lee broke the record twice in 2011 and 2013. The piece is regarded as a challenge to play in a short time for skilled violinists due to its frantic pace. Yıldırır said in an interview with Sanatatak magazine that he was inspired to break the record after watching a performance by David Garrett, the record-holder for fastest violinist prior to Lee.
