I love sport especially swimming and skiing, so I was glad when I heard that international sports activities would be among main issues of the project. I took part in some of them during the mobility in Bieruń. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much time for sport due to a variety of project tasks. We have managed to use only the sports hall. Yet our town has got a wide range of places where you can do sport.
Next to the primary school there is a place for playing football, tennis, basketball, pétanque, running and long jump. We have got a swimming pool with a slide, a jacuzzi and spa. Near high school there is a football pitch, a tennis court and a basketball court. On the playground there is also an open air gym with fitness machines. In Bieruń there is a cycling path. We have got a lake with a beach;-) Around the Lake there are paths where you can do some sports exercises. There is a skate park and two sports halls with fitness clubs. We’ve got a line park and you can ride a horse too! In forest there are a lot of paths where people can walk and ride a bicycle. People in Bieruń practice Nordic walking. So we are very sporty town.
I’ve carried out a survey among my friends. I’ve asked them where they like to spend their free time. I’m presenting the results on the chart.
As you can see water sports are the most popular. During summer students enjoy spending their free time by the lake, but in winter they prefer the swimming pool. We all can swim, as the swimming lessons are compulsory since the beginning of the primary school. However, as one can see on the chart, swimming is not only an obligatory subject but a real pleasure. Lifeguard training courses are also very popular, some of the participants of the project (me too) completed such course last year.
Our colleagues also like football, which is trained in the local football club. Our national football team isn’t as good as Spanish or Italian one but we will support our team during EURO 2016. Teams from all our partner countries will take part in the championship. In the sports hall badminton is the most popular, there are champions of Poland in badminton among our students.
